There are many companies in China that are competing with the rest of the world on practically any product you could imagine. Water ionizers are not exempt. There are some reasons why the top brand ionizers are either made in Japan or Korea. In this blog I want to go over these.
The main problem with the Chinese imports is that their electronics and quality of plates are not trustworthy. I have see companies try to use a platinum alloy instead of pure platinum to coat the ionizer plates. When using a metal other than platinum, or a platinum alloy, the water from that water ionizer will be much less efficiently ionized. Also, health concerns can arise when using an alloy rather than pure platinum.
I very highly recommend that you buy a water ionizer from a company that imports from countries that have government controls in place for the manufacturing of water ionizers. Korea has their FDA and Japan has the Japanese Ministry of Health.
